On this blog I have quoted several scholastic authorities in Islam who correctly interpret sayyidina Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم being خاتم النبيين ‘Seal of the Prophets’ to mean that there can be no prophet after him who shall abrogate his Shari’ah. Among them is Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, particularly regarded by Salafis, who wrote:
“And this is a characteristic of the Seal of Apostles, the one after who there will not come a prophet to abrogate his Shari’ah” (al-Jawab al-Sahih; v.3, p.407)
