In suratul Hajj, v 78, It says وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ مِلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ....here "your father" means whose father ? Quraysh's? Arab's? or all Muslim's? I know is sounds silly but I just need the explanation from the book of tyafseer.

      (Tafsir al-Baydawi)

In summary, at the time of the revelation of this Ayah, most of the Believers were Arabs, and most Arabs were descendants of Abraham. But I am not satisfied with this explanation entirely, in my view, Abraham is the [spiritual] father of all Believers.

  2. Salamun Alaykum.

I have a point to address: when we know all this destruction and bombardment has been done by us all, namely the ummah, then on what patterns or road map would you provide us to read or start with a specific writer's tafaseer or books? And when we go there, are there secular writers, modernist writers, sect-based exegesis, or what not? Also, seeing those contradictions in the matn of hadith as well. May Allah accept all your contributions in addressing the wrongdoers and enlightening the path of true guidance for all. Ameen.

  3. Wa alaikum as salaam. In studying of Quran and Tafsir it is best to refer to a Sunni scholar. For self study refer to any Tafsir written by a mustanad Sunni scholar. Tafsir Ibn Jarir is considered the most authoritative such work of Tafsir since it contains the explanations of the Salaf. Many Hadith compilations also include chapters on Tafsir from the Holy Prophet sall Allahu alaihi wasallam
