والصلاة والسلام على خاتم النبيين
The sheer number of references from various Sufis on this point leaves no choice but to conclude that they held it to be true that a saint of this Ummah can reach the rank of Nubuwwah. For instance, it is mentioned that Sābir Kaliyari (1196-1291 CE) said concerning his murshid (spiritual guide):
کعبہ خانم یا پیمبر مصحف است ایں یا خدا
پیارے پیر کو کعبہ کہوں یا قرآن کہوں یا پیمبر کہوں یا خدا کہوں
Should I call him the Ka’bah, or the Qurān, or the Messenger, or God
The author of the text subsequently writes:
لیلۃ القدر کے انوار اور برکات کے متعلق کہ اس مبارک رات میں تمام فرشتے اور حضرت جبرئیل علیہ السلام حضور سرکار کائنات صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی امت پر نازل ہوتے ہیں۔ اور خدا کی یاد کرنے والوں سے مصافحہ کرتے ہیں ان لوگوں کو پیغمبر کہوں یا کیا کہوں۔ سبحان اللہ حضور سرور کائنات صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے نام لیوا کیسے انعام اور اکرام سے نوازے جاتے ہیں۔ اور پیغمبروں کا درجہ پاتے ہیں۔
On the blessed night of Qadr all the Angels, including Gabriel—peace be upon him—descend upon the Ummah of the Prophet—blessings of Allah and peace be upon him and his family. And they shake the hands of those who remember God. Should I call those people Apostles or what should I call I them? Holy is Allah! How favored and honored they are that they receive the rank of the Apostles (Mi’rāj ul-Mu’minīn, p.145):
