Initial Belief of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad that Jesus is Alive and will Descend

In the Name of Allah, the Rahman, the Merciful

Qadianis, followers of the false prophet and antichrist Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, say that the belief of the Muslims that the Messiah Jesus is alive in Heaven and that he shall descend in the latter days is a belief that is shirk—polytheistic or idolatrous! Hence, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s son and second successor, Mirza Mahmud Ahmad, considered the Promised Reformer or Muslih Mawud by the Qadianis, wrote in his epistle to King Amanullah of Afghanistan titled Dawat ul-Amir, and translated into English as Invitation to Ahmadiyyat:

“True, there are sects among the Muslims that claim to be completely free of Shirk and condemn other Muslims for defaming Islam by indulging in idolatrous practices, but the fact is that these sects too indulge in Shirk. The only difference being that whereas common Muslims set up many saints and sages as equal to God, these people consider Jesus alone to be His equal. This is because, like other Muslims, they believe that Jesus is alive in heaven.” (Anwar ul-Ulum, v.7, p.455)

But in declaring the belief that Jesus is alive in Heaven polytheistic and those that hold to this doctrine polytheists, Mirza Mahmud and the Qadianis would have to confess that the founder of their religion, or rather cult, the antichrist Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, was a polytheist for most of his life until he changed his belief and accepted the heretical teaching of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan that Jesus is dead and will never descend from Heaven in the future.

Allah says:

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, however much those who associate partners with Allah may dislike it

(Surah 61, Ayah 9)

Commenting on this verse in the Quran, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad wrote:

This verse contains the prophecy about Hadrat Masih in respect of the secular and governmental affairs and the promise which has been made about the complete supremacy of the faith of Islam. That supremacy would be manifested through the Messiah. And when Hadrat Masih [Messiah], may peace be upon him, would come for the second time into this world, then the religion of Islam would spread over the entire expanse of the world at his hands…Hadrat Masih is the overt and physical manifestation of the above-mentioned prophecy. (Ruhani Khazain, v.1, pp.593-594; Barahin-i-Ahmadiyyah part 4)

:Allah says

It may be that your Lord may now have mercy on you; but if you revert to your old ways, We too will revert to chastising you. We have devised hell as a prison for the disbelievers

(Surah 17, Ayah 8)

Commenting on this verse in the Quran, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad wrote:

“This verse here indicates the glorious coming of Hadrat Masih…And Hadrat Masih, may peace be on him, would descend in the world with great glory.” (Ruhani Khazain, v.1, p.601; Barahin-i-Ahmadiyyah part 4)

Not only did Mirza Ghulam Ahmad initially believe that the Messiah Jesus, peace be upon him, is alive in Heaven and that he would descend in glory to this world, he quoted Ayats from the Quran to substantiate this belief.

Therefore, as long as Mirza of Qadian held this belief he was a polytheist according to the principle of the Qadianis, but it is strange God would select a polytheist for the lofty office of Nubuwwah.
