Barelwi Violation of the Qur'an: The Prophet (alaihis salam) is not a Bashar Like Us

According to the crystal clear teachings of the Holy Qur'an, the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wasallam) was a Bashar (mortal human being) like us:

Translation: “Say (O Prophet): Verily, I am not but a mortal human being like you all. It is revealed to me that verily your God is One God.” (Surah 18:110)

However, according to the belief of the Barelwis, the Qur'an is wrong (God forbid), and it is incorrect to believe that the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was a man like us:

Translation: “It was the divine power of God which through its own perfection, without the intermediation of a male and female, gave Mustafa (Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him), who in reality was Light, a human body of light. To keep the belief that he was a man like yourselves is incorrect.”

  1. *Note: The controversy created by the Barelwis regarding the Prophet عليه السلام being Noor or Bashar resembles the Christological controversies among the Christians of Jesus being divine or human. "Orthodox" Christians affirm that Jesus is both fully man and fully god (the so called hypostatic union), and likewise, Barelwis believe that the Prophet عليه السلام is both created from the Light of God while simultaneously being Bashar (human)
