Despite
their pretentious claim to be the champions and defenders of khatam
an-Nubuwwa (finality of prophecy), the Deobandis are perhaps the greatest
culprits in self-contradiction. After all, it was the founder of Dar ul-Ulum
Deoband, Mawlana Muhammad Qasim of Nanawta, who famously wrote: “hypothetically,
after the time of the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihi wasallam) another Prophet is
born, even then it will make no difference to the Khaatamiyyat-e-Muhammadi
(Seal of Prophethood of Muhammad) - similarly if another Prophet is his contemporary in
another Earth, or even on this Earth another Prophet is made.” (Tahdhir un-Nas).
Similarly, in this entry I present another statement from the books of Deoband
in which it is stated that another Deobandi elder, Rashid Gangohi, had within
him the status and
excellence of Nubuwwa (prophecy):
مولانا محمد قاسم صاحب میں شان ولایت کا
رنگ غالب تھا، اور مولانا گنگوہی میں شان نبوت کا
“The status of wilaya (sainthood) was overpowering
within the person of Mawlana Muhammad Qasim, and the status of nubuwwa (prophethood)
within Mawlana Gangohi.” (Sawaneh Qasimi v.1 p.477):
