Shah Ismail of Delhi: The Prophet (AS) has mingled with dust

Shah Isma'il of Delhi (1779-1831) the lieutenant of Syed Ahmad of Rai Barailly, claimed that the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa ala Aalihi wasallam) has mingled with dust:

یعنی میں بھی ایک دن مر کر مٹی میں ملنے والا ہوں

Translation: “One day I (Prophet) too shall die and be mingled with dust.”

  1. It should be clarified now that the Hadith I quoted in this entry is weak, and that Shah Ismail of Delhi (shahid) was not a Deobandi, as he lived before the establishment of the Deoband school. I in fact agree with the view of Shah Ismail of Delhi that the Prophet (sall Allahu alaihi wasallam) has died.
